Students in the Spotlight
On April 7, over 250 students, parents, and grandparents filled our auditorium for ACA's elementary talent show, "Students in the Spotlight." Seven 6th grade emcees introduced the 15 student acts, which included a math comedian, a card magic act, an original skit, an instrumental duet, a vocal trio and a gymnastic routine. The children did a fantastic job of entertaining the audience! We also enjoyed popcorn and lemonade during the show, in support of the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) funds.
Donor's Generosity Allows 1:1 Chrome Books in 5th Grade
Lydia Quick (Advancement Director) and I met with a generous donor and her husband to discuss which needs at ACA that could best be met by their financial gift. It wasn't long before the topic of technology entered the conversation. More than ever, our schools today are faced with the importance of integrating technology into the classroom. Our fifth graders were excited to learn that they would be the recipients of new Chrome books, and would no longer have to borrow them from the 6th graders.
It was wonderful to see the many smiles in the 5th grade class when I observed Mrs. Ihnen's Chrome book training in early April. Parents/Guardians have been very supportive of this advancement in 5th grade. They have already put the Chrome books to good use for special author research reports in Literature Lab with Mrs. Robinson, country reports in social studies, and culture/climate surveys. Fifth grade enjoyed the convenience of using their own Chrome books, rather than traveling to the school's computer lab to complete the assignments. We praise God for the generosity of the donors who have made our prayer request a reality!
